Frequently Asked Questions
Is a referral required to book an appointment?
A referral is not required for most PPO plans. Other plans may require a referral. Please call your insurance provider to confirm your benefits.
Many insurance plans offer a limited number of free preventative nutrition counseling visits as a benefit. Please call your insurance provider for more details.

Do you provide telehealth services?
Yes. I provide HIPAA-compliant telehealth services for my clients who prefer this mode of communication for their individual sessions. Please contact me for more information.
Do I need to see a Diabetes Education Specialist if I already see a physician for diabetes?
A Diabetes Care and Education Specialist supports your physician in carrying out your care plan to manage your diabetes. A diabetes education specialist will spend time with you to help you problem solve and will train you how to improve your blood sugars with a goal of reducing complication risks and improving your A1c before your next doctor’s visit.
How many visits are recommended?
The number of visits recommended is unique to each individual, based on the client’s preferences, insurance coverage, and medical necessity.
What is your cancellation policy?
Please call the front desk or send a message via email within 24 hours of your appointment to cancel or reschedule. It is expected that occasionally people will not feel well, or may have an emergency or transportation issue. Changing your appointment to telehealth may be an option if enough notice is provided.
